Kinsus Interconnect Technology Corp.’s Yield Of Substrate-like PCBs Fluctuated At The Beginning; Revenue Is Expected To Increase By 20-25% In Q3
- Jan 06, 2018 -

In response to the launch of the new iPhone, Kinsus Interconnect Technology Corp. (Kinsus) started mass producing substrate-like PCBs in July. The monthly revenue is expected to grow stably from July. So far this year, the revenue of substrate-like PCBs has accounted for 10% of the total revenue; nevertheless, the yield fluctuated at the beginning but is expected to improve gradually after mass production.

Looking at the third quarter, Kinsus expects to enjoy significant growth thanks to the boom of consumer products, Apple’s pull-in, the stable growth of graphics cards, and the mass production of substrate-like PCBs starting in July. As of July, Kinsus achieved the revenue of NT$1.79 billion with a monthly growth rate of 10%, yet a yearly decrease of 12% still existed. The revenue is expected to grow stably starting from July, and Kinsus is estimated to enjoy revenue growth of 20-25% and gross margin growth of 23-24% (compared to 20% in the last quarter) in the third quarter.

This year, the main driving force of Kinsus is the substrate-like PCBs of new American smart phones. Kinsus started mass producing substrate-like PCBs in July, but the gross margin fluctuated significantly at the beginning. According to the estimation, the currently yield is about 60%-70% and is expected to improve in the future. So far this year, the revenue of substrate-like PCBs has accounted for 10% of Kinsus’ total revenue. Manufacturing substrate-like PCBs in its Xing-Feng Factory, Kinsus has invested NT$7 billion or more in substrate-like PCB equipment and expects to earn significant profits this year.
